Job description:
The Plymouth Particle Theory group invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher. The appointment is for 18 months, starting December 2016. The successful candidate will support the work of the strong-field QED group, currently comprising four faculty (Dr Ben King, Dr Thomas Heinzl, Professor David McMullan, Dr Martin Lavelle), a Marie Curie Research Fellow (Dr Anton Ilderton) and three PhD students. The group specialises in calculating particle physics processes in strong laser fields and studying aspects of quantum field theory in intense electromagnetic backgrounds. Eligible candidates will have a PhD in physics or a related discipline, a strong research track record in quantum field theory and ideally some experience in calculating QED processes in intense fields.
