Post-doctoral Fellow
for the Nuclear Resonance beamline (ID18)
Time-limited position

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will participate in ongoing in-house research programmes, the operation of the beamline, providing support to external users as local contact, and develop your own research programme.
The Nuclear Resonance beamline is a world-leading facility for nuclear resonance techniques with applications in various fields such as geoscience, magnetism and superconductivity, nano-structures and disordered systems. Current instrumental interests include the area of high-resolution (energy and space) x-ray optics and fast data acquisition systems.

PROFILE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
WORK CONDITIONS
Contract of 18 months, renewable for a further 6 to 18-month period.
The annual gross salary will be 41,8 k€ and additional allowances may apply.

PROFILE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- PhD in physics or closely related science obtained less than 3 years ago
- A strong background in nuclear resonance/Mössbauer spectroscopy, x-ray optics, and time resolved spectroscopy is desirable
- Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary staff and facility users
- English proficiency (working language at the ESRF)
