Deadline: 2016-10-15
Region: Europe

Job description:
The LHCb group of the “Laboratoire de Physique Nucléaire et des Hautes Energies” (LPNHE) in Paris (France): https://lpnhe.in2p3.fr/ invites applications for a Postdoctoral Position funded by the ANR project ReViSaL to work in the LHCb experiment.

The LHCb experiment at CERN is collecting data from the proton-proton collisions delivered by the Large Hadron Collider.  The LHCb group at LPNHE is currently involved in two main domains of data analysis: the study of charmless three body B decays and rare decays, as well as on tracking activities for the Scintillating Fibre detector of the LHCb upgrade.

The ReViSaL ANR project is focused on the search for charged lepton flavour violating decays of the B meson. These decays, extremely suppressed in the standard model, would provide, if observed, a striking evidence of new physics.

The successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in the charged lepton flavour violating searches performed in LHCb. To qualify, the candidate should have at least a PhD in Particle Physics. Previous experience within the LHCb experiment is not mandatory but welcome. Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and a description of research experience and arrange for three letters of recommendation.

Applications will be accepted until October 15th 2016. The appointment is for two years. The salary depends on the candidate’s previous working experience. No nationality restrictions apply to this position.
For further information contact Francesco Polci (francesco.polci@lpnhe.in2p3.fr). The applications and the three reference letters should be sent at the same address.
