Job description:
The HEP group of Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) invites applications for researcher and postdoc positions on JUNO, Mu2e and BES3 experiments.
(1) JUNO: offline software development, simulation, reconstruction and computing. JUNO (http://juno.ihep.ac.cn/) is a neutrino experiment under construction in China.
(2) Mu2e: background simulation and analysis. Mu2e (http://mu2e.fnal.gov/), an experiment searching for CLFV (Charged Lepton Flavor Violation) signals through muon to electron conversion, is under construction at Fermilab in USA.
(3) BES3: physics data analysis, in cooperation with colleagues in BES3 collaboration (http://bes3.ihep.ac.cn/).
Successful candidates are expected to play an important role in one or multiple fields described above. For JUNO/Mu2e software and computing applicants, experience with GEANT4, ROOT, C++ or Python is appreciated. For BES3, experience with physics data analysis is preferred.

Description of positions:
(1) Researcher/Associate Researcher: the candidates should have Ph.D. degree in Particle Physics or Nuclear Physics. The annual salary is 220k-260k RMB (33k-40k USD) for researcher /140k-180k RMB (22k-28k USD) for associate researcher, plus additional bonus (up to 50%) according to performance evaluation. The initial appointment is three years.
(2) Postdoctoral Scholar: the candidates should receive Ph.D. degree by the time of appointment. The initial term is two years. The annual base salary is 160k RMB (25k USD) plus full benefits, and bonus according to performance evaluation. The candidates can also apply for the “Chung-Yao Chao Fellowship” (additional salary of 80k RMB per year).

Being one of the leading universities in China, SYSU is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary university with more than 80,000 students. The university is located in Guangzhou, one of the largest metropolitans in China. Benefiting from its location close to Hong Kong and Macau and the regional advantage of opening and economic development, SYSU is an important base for high-level talents and scientific research. The HEP group at SYSU consists of four faculty members, working on JUNO, Dayabay, PandaX, Mu2e, BES3, etc. The successful applicants will be based in Guangzhou, China. Knowledge of Chinese language is not required. Foreigners and non-Chinese speakers are encouraged to apply.
