Job description:
The Nuclear Theory Group at the University of Washington anticipates filling one to two fulltime postdoctoral to start in Fall 2017. Outstanding candidates in nuclear theory, broadly defined, are invited to apply. Both positions are full-time, 12-month (one-year) appointments which may be extended (upon successful performance) up to a maximum term of three years.
The Theoretical Nuclear Physics Group consists of four faculty members [S. R. Beane, A. Bulgac, G. A. Miller, and S. Schlichting], post docs and students. Current group research interests include many-body theory and nuclear structure, lattice gauge theory and effective field theories, heavy-ion collisions, nuclear reactions at high and low energies, weak interactions and fundamental symmetries, and nuclear astrophysics.
