The experimental particle physics group at Brown University has immediate availability for a postdoctoral research associate.

The group is led by Profs. Cutts, Heintz, Landsberg, and Narain, and plays leading roles in the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. We are pursuing an exciting physics program at the 13 TeV energy regime opened up by the LHC, which recently discovered a Higgs boson and offers the continuing possibility of major new discoveries. Our group is active in searches for new physics, Higgs physics, and Top physics. We are major contributors and hold institutional responsibilities for trigger, computing, hadron calorimeter, silicon tracker, and the HL-LHC upgrade of CMS. Our group also has a strong presence at the LHC Physics Center at Fermilab.

We offer challenging opportunities associated with our responsibilities in CMS and exciting possibilities in the analysis of the discoveryquality data of the 13 TeV LHC run of 2015-2017. The successful applicant will take a leading role in CMS physics analysis, help maintain our detector responsibilities, and/or spearhead R&D for the CMS upgrade. A Ph.D. in experimental particle physics is required and experience with data analysis and/or hardware are preferred.
