Job description:
The CMS group at University of Padua invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate in experimental particle physics.
The group is active in several fronts of the experiments, namely the trigger system, the muon barrel chambers (Drift Tubes), the silicon tracker and the related high luminosity upgrade programmes.
The Physics programme of the group spans from precision heavy flavour analyses, to Higgs Physics and to Beyond the Standard Model searches.
The successful candidate will participate in our hardware projects, but will mainly focus on the analysis of the CMS data in search for BSM phenomena.
There will also be the opportunity to contribute to the studies for future colliders like the FCC and the low-emittance muon collider. Activities related to that will include dedicated beam tests and accelerator R&D.
The successful candidate will be based in Padua, but frequent visits and long stays at CERN (up to 1 year) will be fully supported.
Candidates for this position should have a PhD in Physics and demonstrated experience in high energy physics research.
