postdoc for a fixed term of 21 months. The group, composed of researchers from the
Universities of Burgos, Salamanca and Valladolid, is currently working on mathematical
models based in Quantum Field Theory to describe graphene-like materials and
topological insulators.
Candidates should have a PhD in Physics or Mathematics, an excellent publication
record in areas related to the group's research profile, and expertise in some of the
following domains:
• Quantum Field Theory and Mathematical Physics
• Numerical and symbolic calculations with Mathematica
• Classical and Quantum Electrodynamics in non-vacuum backgrounds
• Finite temperature Quantum Field Theory
• Condensed Matter, in particular graphene-like materials and topological
insulators
The selected candidate will be based in Valladolid University, but will work in close
collaboration with the rest of the members of the group at the universities of Burgos
and Salamanca. Collaborations with Graphenea (http://www.graphenea.com/) and
Wolfram Research Europe Ltd (http://www.wolfram.com/) will be an important part of
the research project to be developed.
