DESY, Hamburg location, is seeking:
Scientist (f/m)

DESY

DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics.

The particle physics programme of DESY consists of strong contributions to the LHC experiments ATLAS and CMS and to the preparation of future experiments. The experimental programme is enhanced by collaboration with a strong theory group. DESY is searching an experienced experimental physicist (f/m), who will take a leading role in the physics analysis of ATLAS data and in the upgrade of the silicon strip detector for HL-LHC.

The position
-Active role in the ATLAS experiment
-Leading role in ATLAS data analysis
-Strong participation in ATLAS silicon detector upgrade (hardware and/or software aspects)
-Participation in the supervision of students and postdocs

Requirements
-PhD in experimental Particle Physics
-Extensive knowledge and experience in data analysis
-Experience in detector operations and/or development
-Experience in software development Outstanding teamwork abilities and excellent communication skills and knowledge of English
