Job description:
Physics department at the University of Houston is seeking a postdoctoral fellow or a part time programmer who is fluent in scientific computation and mathematical methods. This position will allow an enthusiastic candidate to shift their research focus to emerging areas in medical imaging/imaging physics such as x-ray phase contrast imaging and photon counting spectral detectors. Opportunities for several international collaborations including CERN. Area of imaging physics offers excellent job opportunities in academia, national laboratories, clinical research and industry.
PhD in Physics or engineering with excellent data analysis skills and good programming skills: C/C++, shell scripting, parallel programming, Matlab and/or python. Prior experience in writing research papers and making good presentations is a must.
Position open immediately. Initial appointment for 1 year with possibility of extension based on performance and funding.
