Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD position in Theoretical Physics under supervision of
Dr. Helios Sanchis-Alepuz and Prof. R. Alkofer at the Institute for Physics of the University of Graz in Austria.
The field of research will be the electroproduction of mesons off nucleons in functional approaches to QCD.
Applicants familiar with quantum field theory and with some experience in the application of numerical and computational methods to physics problems are especially welcome. The position is to be started, ideally, in September-October 2016.
The successful applicant will will be given a position for performing a doctoral study at the Faculty
of Natural Sciences of the University of Graz and will become a member of the graduate school
"Hadrons in Nuclei and Vacuum" http://physik.uni-graz.at/~dk-user/
The successful candidate will be employed by the University of Graz for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of extension for a third year. The gross salary is approximately 28000 Euro per year, which amounts to a net salary of approx. 21000 per year.
Applicants must hold at least a master or an equivalent degree in physics. The applications have to
contain copies of the corresponding documents (certificates), a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests and previous work experience and at least two letters of recommendation (to be sent separately to the email address below). It is desirable that a copy of the master thesis is also included in the application.
