Job description:
The High Energy Physics (HEP) group at the Jazan University (JU) at Jazan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to work on the CMS experiment.
The Jazan University is an active member of the BABAR experiment at the SLAC national accelerator laboratory in the USA and is currently joining to the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).
The successful applicants should have a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics and will be expected to make significant contributions to the CMS data analysis effort and collaboration service work. Previous particle physics data analysis experience, strong experience with Root and a very good working knowledge of C++ will make the applicants ideal. Candidates should be able to carry out an individual research program. The appointment will be renewed yearly based on the mutual agreement. The successful candidate will be based in Jazan but travel to CERN is required.
Jazan University is the flagship and largest of the province of Jazan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Successful candidate will receive an internationally competitive financial package including:
a) salary free of KSA tax
b) round-trip air tickets every year from/to candidate’s country
c) housing allowance
d) two months of paid summer holidays and
e) maximum 2 dependents K-12 school fees.
