Job description:

Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Experimental High Energy Physics with ATLAS

The Center for High Energy Physics at the University of Oregon invites applications for a postdoctoral research scholar position in experimental high energy physics with the ATLAS experiment. Candidates should have PhD. in physics or a closely related field by the date of appointment and a demonstrated ability to perform high caliber, independent particle physics research as well as the capability to mentor students. The Oregon high energy physics group has a strong and exciting research program with major commitments to ATLAS at the LHC, the LlGO gravitational wave observatory, and detector development for a next-generation experiment at the ILC. The successful candidate will play a leading role in ATLAS data analysis in searches for physics beyond the standard model in Run 2 of the LHC and support the Oregon group's work on the ATLAS trigger and detector systems. Residence at CERN is expected, especially during the Run 2 Operations.

We invite applications from qualified candidates who share our commitment to diversity. Interested candidates should send a CV, list of selected publications, and a brief statement of research interests to https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/5906. Applicants should also arrange to have three (3) letters of recommendation sent directly to the AJO website on their behalf. To ensure consideration, please submit application materials by October 1. The position will remain open until filled. Inquiries may be addressed to Eric Torrence (torrence@uoregon.edu).
